MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH GENERAL
Arnold School of Public Health

The Arnold School of Public Health Master of Public Health, General (MPH-G) with an emphasis in Health Administration is a degree program designed to provide opportunities to study using distance education to those who cannot access the on-campus MPH program. This program is offered to persons with a professional degree (e.g., MD, DMD, JD, DVM, or other equivalent degree) from an accredited program. The program will take a minimum of 2.5 years to complete.

Courses will be offered primarily by live, satellite television available at designated viewing sites throughout the state of South Carolina. However, several courses will be delivered using videotape. Other forms of technology will also be used (e-mail, discussion boards, class Listservs) to enhance communication.

Admissions Requirements
For admission to this program, applicants must have earned a professional doctoral degree from a regionally accredited instituion. Applicants should submit a complete application packet including official transcripts of college academic work, letters of recommendation, and official score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) or the Dental Admission Test (DAT).  The Graduate Bulletin and Admission Application are available on-line.
Degree Requirements

A total of 38 semester hours are required for completion of the MPH-G. This includes 15 hours in core courses, nine hours in an area of emphasis, eight-to-nine hours of public health electives, and six hours of practicum.
