The Master of Arts in Teaching
(MAT), Business Education, is a program for persons who hold
an undergraduate degree in business, management, accounting
or other areas but who would like to teach. Business educatin
in South Carolina and in many other states is considered a
critical field which means there are not enough teachers qualified
to teach business education in K-12 schools. |

Admissions Requirements |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
For admission to The
Graduate School, a baccalaureate or higher degree from a college
or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency is
normally required. Applicants
should submit a complete application packet including official
transcripts of college academic work, letters of recommendation,
and official score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
or Miller's Analogy Test (MAT).

Degree Requirements |

|
|
The MAT program consists of a minimum of 36 semester
hours of graduate credit in approved courses plus internships
at the middle and high school levels. This degree program leads
to certification in business education. A final comprehensive
exam, consisting of written and oral components, will be administered
upon completion of the coursework. |
