Q. Where are the receiver sites?
A. Courses delivered by satellite are available at 29 locations statewide that
are equipped with one-way video/two-way audio capability to facilitate
interaction with the instructor and students.
Q. Where are the off-site locations for traditional delivery courses?
A. Courses are offered on site in many locations around the state, in
particular, on each of the University of South Carolina campuses. In
addition, courses are offered at the Lowcountry Center in Charleston and
the University Center in Greenville.
Q. What if I want to talk to a person about my questions?
A.
The University provides student services in a variety of ways. You can
call toll-free at 1-800-922-2577 and speak with a person in the Student
Services area of Distance Education. In addition staff members are
located in specific regions of the state
through the Extended Campus.
Q. How can I order books and materials?
A.
You can buy books for most courses on-line at
direct.mbs.com/univsccol.htm. For books or materials not available
through MBS you can order through Distance Education
(1-800-922-2577).
Q. Who should I contact if there are technical questions?
A. If you have difficulty receiving a televised course call our trouble line at

Q. What are the methods of delivery?
A. Courses are delivered using a variety of methods including: on-site with
the faculty member in person, web-based, televised, and
DVD/CD/cassettes; independent learning may use a combination of these
methods.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. The Board of Trustees sets tuition and fees on an annual basis. Fees vary
by level, discipline and college. A complete listing of the current fees is
available on the Bursar's website. The current application fee for the
Graduate School is $40.00. The current change of statusfee is $15.00 and
applies to the following:
Applicants declined for admission to a program who reapply
Applicants who change their degree program
Applicants seeking readmission to The Graduate School
Late registration fees are $5.00 per day.
Q. Do I need to be immunized?
A. The University of South Carolina requires that all students born after
December 31, 1956, be immunized against, or provide proof of immunity to,
measles (rubeola) and German measles (rubella). Every student taking a
course on the USC Columbia scmpus is required to submit proof of meeting
immunization requirements. Send the immunization documentation directly

Q. I checked that I am a resident of South Carolina on my application form. Why
do I need to complete a residency form?
A. When you indicate that you are a South Carolina resident on either the
degree on non-degree application, you will need to complete a
residency form and return it to the Legal Residency Office. Failure to
return the requested information will result in your being classified as a
non-resident and you will be assessed out-of-state tuition. For more
