MASTER OF REHABILITATION COUNSELING
School of Medicine
The School of Medicine offers a cross-disciplinary program that provides focused training in the area of psychiatric rehabilitation.  The 48 semester hour Master's emphasizes  practical training in a professional service setting and does not require an academic thesis.
Admissions Requirements
For admission to The Graduate School, a baccalaureate or higher degree from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency is normally required.  Applicants should submit a complete application packet including official transcripts of college academic work, letters of recommendation, and official score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  The Graduate Bulletin and Admission Application are available on-line.
Degree Requirements

The 42 required semester hours are consistent with Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) curriculum emphasis and include an internship that emphasizes practical experience in a professional service setting.

A 6 semester hour elective requirement allows students to choose from cognate areas such as mental health, alcohol and drug, head and spinal injury, gerontology, and developmental disabilities.
